About Kautilya

Most people are not just one thing anymore. You might run a company, build a product on the side, learn a new field, and study for a degree — all in the same week. Kautilya started from a simple frustration with that reality: to get through it, you either consult someone from another field, or juggle a stack of tools and courses that each force their own structure and pace on you. You end up adapting to their timeline instead of your own.

The idea

Kautilya is built the other way round — plug and play. One assistant, called Pika, that adapts to the mix of things you are doing and the pace you can actually keep. You bring a question from any corner of your work; it meets you where you are, answers from the sources and material you give it, and shows citations you can open and check.

Why the name

Kautilya is named for Kautilya (Chanakya), author of the Arthashastra — a mind that worked across statecraft, economy, law, and strategy at once, instead of being boxed into one track. That is the spirit we build in: a companion for people who wear many hats. The name is our inspiration, not our audience —Kautilya is for whatever mix of work is yours.

• Private to you: your work is yours; we do not train models on your data.
